WHAT DOES THE OPUS PLASMA TREATMENT FEEL LIKE?
It is incredibly tolerated, with most patients rating it at only a 3 or 4 out of 10 on a pain scale. We use a highly concentrated topical anesthetic that further ensures the discomfort is reduced and the procedure is easily managed.
WHAT SHOULD ONE EXPECT AFTER AN OPUS PLASMA TREATMENT?
You may experience some minor redness (much like a sunburn) and swelling for a few days, but nothing that would prohibit you from returning to your normal routine. A few days later you will notice dry and flaky skin similar to what one experiences from a chemical peel. That can generally be controlled with regular application of a good moisturizer. We will provide you with a post care kit and discuss what products to either use or avoid. Note: Sunscreen will be incredibly important for weeks following the procedure as you will be highly susceptible to sun burn.
HOW LONG DOES THE OPUS PLASMA TREATMENT?
It actually takes almost as long for the numbing cream to take effect as it does for the procedure to occur. Generally the procedure takes no more than 30 minutes by itself depending on how large of an area is being treated.
HOW DOES PLASMA TREATMENT WORK?
The metal pins on the Opus Plasma roller head are supercharged with a high RF (radiofrequency) energy which reacts to atmospheric pressure as they are rolled across the skin. This in turn generates the plasma that ablates the skin. The micro injury that is achieved stimulates the collagen and elastin production that provides the desired outcome. The Opus Plasma device operates at over 40 MHz, which is a much higher level than any other option on the market to date.
