What Is Ultherapy®?

Sagging, inelastic skin is an inevitable result of aging. Ultherapy® reverses the drooping with ultrasound energy, emitted from the device as heat. This heat, delivered to the layers of deep skin and muscle, causes the skin to tighten and stimulates the production of collagen. The ultrasound energy treats deep layers of tissue while leaving the surface untouched. This device has been FDA-approved to lift and tighten the following areas:

Ultherapy®

Natural. Non-invasive. No Downtime.

The FDA-cleared Ultherapy procedure has been established to be safe and effective in clinical studies and over 200,000 patient treatments worldwide. In addition, every Ultherapy practitioner is provided with procedural training and tools, so you can schedule your skin tightening treatment with complete confidence.

An Ultherapy procedure typically takes around 60-90 minutes, but will depend on the area to be treated and the skin tightening treatment plan determined by your practitioner. There are no special after-care requirements and you can resume your normal activities immediately.

An Uplift, Not A Facelift!

The only FDA-cleared procedure to lift skin on these hard-to-treat areas, Ultherapy uses the safe, time-tested energy of ultrasound to stimulate the deep structural support layers of the skin—including those typically addressed in a surgical facelift—without disturbing the surface of the skin. Some people call it a “mini face lift,” but we prefer the term “uplift”! If you are seeking a facelift without surgery, Ultherapy is worth your consideration.

Safe Ultrasound. No Surgery.

Ultherapy harnesses the power of ultrasound to transform the brow, chin, neck and chest. Ultrasound, of course, has been used safely throughout the medical field for more than 50 years – and Ultherapy has been established as safe and effective in clinical studies and in over half a million treatments worldwide.

Ultherapy relies on ultrasound therapy to deliver its collagen-boosting treatment. It also incorporates traditional ultrasound imaging, which allows practitioners to see the layers of tissue they are treating, ensuring the treatment energy is delivered to where it will be most beneficial.

Benefits

What Are The Key Benefits Of Ultherapy?

How Does Ultherapy® Work?

Ultherapy is a new type of non-surgical, non-invasive procedure that uses ultrasound and the body’s own natural healing process to lift, tone, and tighten loose skin on the brow, neck, and under the chin. Those who seek neck tightening or a non-surgical face lift option are typically pleased by the benefits of Ultherapy.

Unlike lasers, which penetrate the skin from the outside-in, the Ultherapy® procedure bypasses the surface of the skin, specifically targeting the deep, structural skin tissues where collagen lives stimulate the deep structural support layers of the skin—including those typically addressed in a surgical facelift—without disturbing the surface of the skin. Using ultrasound technology, Ultherapy actually works from the inside-out to lift and tighten skin non-invasively.

In some ways, Ultherapy is just like an ultrasound imaging procedure that expectant mothers may receive. A smooth handpiece is placed on your skin and an image of the tissue beneath is projected on a screen. This allows your practitioner to “see” where they will treat your skin.

But here’s the difference: with Ultherapy, that same handpiece is also used to deliver tiny deposits of focused ultrasound energy at just the right depth below the skin, to the same foundational layer typically addressed in a surgical facelift.

The Lift You’re Looking For

Your body’s response to this energy is to recondition tired skin by stimulating the growth of fresh, new collagen. The result is a tightening and gradual lifting—or shifting—of the skin back into a more youthful position and form-fitting shape.

Skin-tightening results will unfold over the course of 2-3 months and some patients have reported continued improvement for up to 6 months, including lifting and tightening of the skin on the neck, under the chin, along the jawline, and on the brow. While ultrasound does not duplicate the results of surgery, Ultherapy has proven to be an inviting alternative for those who want the lift, without the surgery.

Most Frequently Asked Questions

Ultherapy is a safe, non-surgical ultrasound treatment that uses the body’s own regenerative response to gently and gradually lift skin on the eyebrow, under the chin and on the neck, and smooth lines and wrinkles on the décolletage.

Ulthera is recommended for areas where the skin starting to show some degree of laxity or “looseness”. Ulthera is also recommended for areas where collagen has broken down.

Loose skin under the chin or neck, droopy eyelids and a loose jawline signal a potential great candidate for treatment. Under-eye bags are also a great treatment area. While Ulthera is NOT a replacement for a surgical facelift or skin reduction, it can help those with the early signs of aging in addition to behooving those who want a natural looking lift.

Ulthera is also ideal for those looking to prolong the effects of a surgical facelift. If you are NOT ready for surgery (mentally, physically or financially) then Ulthera may be the skin-tightening treatment in Fort Collins for you!

Did you know that Ulthera is the only FDA cleared treatment to lift skin?

Ulthera also uses ultrasound imaging, which allows treatment to be highly targeted for the most effective results. No other skin tightening device allows this precise, focused treatment. Plus Ulthera actually helps to condition the skin, so those lines on the neck (as seen below) or chest, can now be treated safely and effectively.

  • FDA-cleared
  • Non-invasive
  • No downtime
  • Uses safe ultrasound
  • Takes just 45-90 minutes
  • Measurable results after just a single procedure
  • Stimulates the body’s natural collagen production
  • The visible effects of Ulthera—lifting and toning—take place over a period of 2-3 months post treatment, as tired collagen is replaced with new, more elastic collagen.

Ulthera will keep building-up collagen for up to 6 months following the procedure.

On your first visit with us, an Ulthera specialist will evaluate your specific needs and answer any questions you have. They will discuss what treatment plan is best to achieve your desired results. During the procedure, your provider will use Ulthera ultrasound imaging to view deep within the skin to determine the best depths to administer treatment.

Your provider will scan treatment areas to then direct ultrasound waves in three different penetration depths to target fine lines, wrinkles and to target skin lifting.

Ulthera gently heats the tissue to lift and tighten loose skin without disrupting the surface of the skin.

Unlike lasers, radio frequency, surgery and other technologies, non-surgical Ultherapy bypasses superficial skin to deliver the right amount of ultrasound energy at the right depths and the appropriate temperature. This energy triggers a natural response under the skin, jumpstarting the regenerative process that produces fresh, new collagen. The treatment also uses traditional ultrasound imaging, which allows practitioners to see the layers of tissue they are treating, ensuring the treatment energy is delivered to where it will be most beneficial.

No, there is no downtime with Ulthera. When your treatment has finished, you are able to return to normal activities immediately after.

There Is No Recovery Time & No Scarring.

You are not required to stay out of the sun, and there is no post-treatment care you will need to conduct.

There may be slight redness for up to an hour or so following the treatment, and a small percentage of patients may have slight swelling, tingling or tenderness to touch, but these are mild and temporary in nature.

Some patients may see some initial effect, but the ultimate results will take place over 2-3 months, as the body naturally regenerates collagen. Since the procedure stimulates a person’s own collagen production, how long the results last really depends on the individual. The treatment produces new collagen on the inside, but the individual’s natural aging process will dictate how long that translates into visible results on the outside.

Continual scientific and clinical research is conducted to enhance the treatment, and thanks to a recent development, the Ultherapy treatment is now more comfortable for patients! This new-and-improved treatment approach is proven to increase patient comfort of the procedure without impacting efficacy.

Of course, comfort thresholds vary from patient to patient, so some people may experience discomfort while the ultrasound energy is being delivered. This sensation is temporary and a positive signal that the collagen-building process has been initiated. Patients typically leave comfortable and excited about the benefits to come!

The length of the treatment will depend on the area being treated and patient’s individual treatment plan.

A face and neck procedure typically takes 60-90 minutes. A small area like the chin or around the eyes may take 20-30 minutes.

The majority of patients only need one treatment; however, some may benefit from more than one treatment depending on how much laxity they have and their body’s own biological response to the ultrasound and the collagen-building process.

In brief, do not use anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen post treatment as these will may slow down the factors that stimulate new collagen production.

Ulthera is able to treat at at depths not reached with other devices, which ultimately target dramatic skin lifting.

Ulthera is the only treatment that can actually “see” and target the specific area of concern. Thus Ulthera is the only treatment suitable for those with thin, or even thick skin.

Ulthera is 100x more powerful that treatments like Thermage, Pelleve or other similar treatments because it provides more intense energy that ultimately causes more change within the skin. Ulthera is FDA cleared.

Lifting indications Ultherapy is the ONLY non-invasive procedure FDA-cleared to lift skin on the neck, under the chin and on the brow.

Décolletage Indication: Ultherapy is the ONLY non-invasive procedure specifically FDA-cleared to improve lines and wrinkles on the décolletage.

Imaging Indication: Ultherapy is the ONLY FDA-cleared aesthetic procedure to use ultrasound imaging to visualize dermal and subdermal layers of tissue during treatment.

Collagen is the natural protein that gives skin its youthfulness by keeping it firmed and toned. As we age, collagen loses its strength and its ability to stand up to the effects of gravity that pull the skin downward. Ultherapy uses focused ultrasound to generate a thermal effect under the skin. The thermal effect essentially jumpstarts a repair process that strengthens existing collagen and produces fresh, new collagen.

Ulthera is suitable to receive prior to a special event, however in some rare cases bruising may occur, which can be covered with makeup.
